Tactility Box #2

Part 1: Sketching and Savaging. I found most of my items on the fourth floor of the W 13th building.

Part 2: Making the box. I bought the wood at an Ace Hardware store and a few other items at an art store. The theme of my second box is New York City. In the first box my theme was my home, which was the beach, but now New York is my home. I wood glued each side of the wood together with wood glue and fabric. For the top of the box I drilled holes and screwed in nails for the henge so the door could open and close. Most of the materials inside my box are wire for movement, fabric for fashion, tin for protection, foam clay for creativity, plastic for inauthenticity, white foam balls for seasons and weather, and finally the colors for the endless amount of diversity in the city.
