Path to the Aid for Aids

Screen Shot 2014-09-04 at 10.13.49 PMI had the day off so I planned with my aunt to go to aids for aids, I had decided to do this a while back, because my mom had a foundation that helped kids with HIV back in Dominican Republic in which I used to volunteer, so when I heard my aunt was in the board of aids for aids I figured this was a great opportunity for me to get involved helping others and continue with the same objective me and my mom had back in the D.R.I started my day by walking down the street waiting for the time my aunt had told me she would pick me up, time was passing so slow and it was very hot so I decided I’d get a few things done along the way. I stopped by trader joe’s to buy food for the dorm since all of what we had was junk food and we didn’t want to become part of the freshman fifteen club. I took my camera and decided this wold be good day to document and would be a great opportunity for this project. at first it was really hot and you could only hear cars honking and people screaming at their phones, when you got to trader joe’s the line was enormous and everyone was in a hurry to get out of there. After that part time just went really fast and before I knew it my aunt was there picking me up in her car and everything from there went pretty fast and calm. I got an amazing tour of everything that the foundation does all of the different ways they try to help people who are HIV positive in the states and out of the states and was amazed by the amour of people that contribute and work to make this issue less of a taboo in society.
