Explain why you chose the selected feature
I choose this specific feature because recently my roommate decided that she wanted to start playing this game, which I don’t truly believe works but scares me to death.
What makes this feature compelling?
I believe this is interesting because nobody knows if this actually works it’s just left each and everyone of us to believe.
What did you learn from the feature?

  • People have been using this board this for about 130 years
  • they are called taking boards, and it was started in New York by the Fox sisters
  • It became famous after the civil war, because many people had lost so many loved ones that they wanted to contact.
  • they say that the board named itself and that it means good luck
  • it was a very popular game to play on a date, since in the 1900 wen and women weren’t supposed to be alone together.
  • the image of the board changes after the movie “the exorcist” came out
  • people now buy them to seek danger instead of fun
  • There is a movie that is coming out along with a new game by Hasbro
  • belief is important to playing this game
  • unconscious muscular movement is what makes the ouija move
  • when one word becomes apparent they you sort of get an idea of what is supposed to say
  • our subconscious mind knows the answer our subconscious mind dosen’t, many doctors use the ouija board to access the subconscious mind. It is all the power of the mind and can be explained by psychology.

Did you follow the story through just by listening or did you peruse the images and text while you listened?
I mostly listen but sometimes I went back and forth to look at images.
What keeps you engaged with the feature?
I guess it’s the interesting sounds and the change of tones in the voices that helps you understand the expressions and keeps you interested.
What sounds are added to the commentary?
sounds of springs, binds, wind, and different types of music.
Give your overall opinion of the feature. What was successful and why?
I believe this feature was very successful, since it did not only kept me interested and informed me a lot about the topic, but actually left me wanting to know more, and still a little bit scared.
