PODCAST SCHOOL – UnionDocs

What have artists been cooking up over the past year at the WAVE FARM RESIDENCY? This special Upper Hudson Valley non-profit is a center for the celebration of creative and community use of media over the airwaves. Through their extensive archives, their online and local broadcast radio channel, and this unique international residency program, Wave Farm has found many ways to support this genre, conduct research, and encourage new transmission work.

Friday evening, making use of UnionDocs’ newly installed 7.1 surround sound system, Ed Bear, Mike Bullock and Linda Aubry Bullock, Damian Catera and Patricia Kositzky, and Bernd Klug will present and perform work created during their 2015 residencies at Wave Farm.

Only two slots remain for PODCAST SCHOOL, Jan 22 – 24. Geared towards experienced audio producers, this workshop will provide individual feedback for those with podcast projects underway. Hear from seasoned audio storytellers: Jonathan Mitchell (The Truth), Benjamin Walker (The Theory of Everything), Megan Tan (Millennial), Sean Rameswaram (WNYC) and Nazanin Rafsanjani (Gimlet Media). The course is led by Sruthi Pinnamaneni of Gimlet Media.

Our new workshop DOCUMENTARY FUNDRAISING: THE ART OF ASKING covers the practical side to filmmaking. This exercise-heavy course will lead participants through the world of grant-writing, crowdfunding, individual investments and more. Led by producer and programmer Adella Ladjevardi, with guest instructors Lana Wilson (After Tiller), Tracie Holder (Joe Papp in Five Acts) and Anna Rose Holmer (The Fits). Feb 20 – 21.
