As a fashion student, I always think of fashion and try to define fashion in my words. The class of this semester has deepened the understanding of fashion, style and body.
Above all things, forming and designing fashion and identity was huge interests to me. According to the book, Designers: The Personification of Fashion, fashion grands identity to clothing. The sentence inspires me a lot. It affected me to change design process and present my work.
I started to see the whole part rather than small parts. Also, it helps me unify and define my work through thinking identity what I work for. I studied several fashion style through subculture research and my final project for design studio was inspired by my subculture; goth. Also, my understanding of fashion has been changed based on forming identity. Creating map in the class was an opportunity to look around the relationship between my identity and fashion. It gives more reason why I wear certain pieces and seek for a specific style. What I want to be seen is what I want to be. Likewise, the general class was helpful for me.
