We began this project in my first year Drawing and Imaging class by visiting the Islamic wing of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and photographing a piece that particularly interested us. I chose this Egyptian horse wood carving.
We then took this photograph and created a 2D design with it in Photoshop and Illustrator to alter the colors. Next, we printed the design and transferred it onto illustration board and painted it in acrylic paint.
I found this project challenging in terms of the amount of detail I chose to include, but also very rewarding to see the end result, and I am very happy with how it turned out.
