Memory 3, 2014, watercolor monotype
27 x 19.5 inches
Memory is the intangible force that connects us to our lives, to time and to each other. It establishes continuity by binding our experiences into an identity and it offers comfort as we recognize a face or shades of emotions when we connect our lives to others we know or will meet. It creates the opportunity for learning by building on what we already know. Memory is also time sensitive. It is a force that can shift, strengthen, fade and even unravel over time.
Print form brings our experiences from memory to a tangible form. Through the monotype, one image; can be made permanent as it is strengthened, faded or unraveled, yet captured and kept in its various states over time.
