Lang CESJ Program Coordinator Kendra Danowski will co-facilitate a workshop at NCORE (National Conference for Race and Ethnicity in American Higher Education) in Washington DC this May.

The workshop, “Mixed Foundations: Supporting and Empowering Multiracial Student Organizations,” will address the institutional barriers, monoracist attitudes, and structural oppression faced by multiracial college students. The session will focus on supporting and empowering multiracial students and mixed race student organizations on college campuses. Through the workshop, participants will learn about the importance of creating inclusive spaces for multiracial students, equipping them with strong leadership skills, and advising them through political and administrative hurdles.

Kendra co-founded the National Association for Mixed Student Organizers (NAMSO), which supports multiracial student organizers with intergenerational network-building, resources, and strategies for supporting their advocacy and activism on campus. In this NCORE session, she will integrate her experiences from that role and her work as Program Coordinator for Civic Engagement & Social Justice here at Lang.
