Rachel Smith (’15, Psychology) has been accepted in the psychology PhD program at Stony Brook, with a full fellowship.
Rachel was a student in two of Emanuele Castano’s classes and was a member of his lab for about two years, where she developed an interest in studying psychological essentialism – and how it can be undermined by engaging with literary fiction. We have an article in preparation in which she is the first author.
At Stony Brook she will work with Sheri Levy, a student of Carol Dweck (whom I am sure you know), whose work on essentialism has received quite a bit of attention.
