Margot Bouman takes part in a panel discussion on 3/29, “Special Effects: Art, Belief and Audiences”

Margot Bouman, an Assistant Professor of Visual Culture and Program Director of Visual Studies, will take part in a panel discussion where the ideas will inform the concurrent exhibition, The Eccentrics at SculptureCenter. The panel will features two of the exhibiting artists, Sanya Kantarovsky and Jeanine Oleson, as well as exhibition curator Ruba KatribThe role of special effects in contemporary art and performance is key to their discussion as well as strategies of belief and suspense of belief that are used by artists and performers to elicit particular emotional and cognitive responses from their audiences.
