Project 3 “United under Lens”

The Great Confinement by Foucualt seemed like a way for the city to practice its morals as a unit, reform school while some cases very dark however originally it was proven to produce selflessness in boys by being detached from family and being part of a team for the moral good of the city. Social housing came for those in times of war without access to home and health resource. Social housing projects has this idea of inclusion but at the same time detachment for some cases the project is secluded away from the city with no commodities like theater.

This idea of moral unity seems recurring and it’s often involving becoming selfless and detached in order to be united which is biblical to me.

Though these cases were very interesting I found it difficult to find these situations relatable to the current. All I can think of is what kind of character or personality would someone have been to be in these situations. That’s why characters from animations and movies came to mind that expressed this similar personality. Ultimately I found myself coming back to the thought “I don’t really feel like I’m in these situations” and people whom claim on social media of they feel like Anne Frank, or they’re in prison because of social distancing. It’s quite annoying every time I go on social media as an american its always conspiracy theories and everyone feels the need to be competitive therefore throw shots at whoever doesn’t agree with you.

Ms Puff Goes to Jail, “But this is a mistake I don’t belong here” “Yeah I don’t belong here either” “I belong Here”

D.C. Comics “Belle Reve” Prison for Suicide Squad

Dream Works “Shrek” Fairytale creatures

I want to explore this non-relatable aspect, how do all of these situation measure up to one another including mine. Similar to Shrek and also to the Chroniques Clichy Montyfermel project where there is an attempt to convey every type of character in the fairy tale world or in the city. How do they differ in posture and their dialogue as well as the dialogue surrounding them?

Design 3D characters, each given the lens as a portrait frame that changes to conveys their detachment or situation that requires one to cut off a part of their original life style, or leaving something that is thought be an essential for the good of something greater such as moral of the city. In the Bible Abraham was one to detached himself from the world so that he could receive new life and with God.  Many times in the Bible they speak of detaching from the world in order to begin to understand the new way to live.
