24 Objects From the Topic of Make Up and Janpanese Culture

1. My little tiger

This is a little stuffed animal, its cuteness and the fun size of it reminds me of those Japanese anime, with characters who have big eyes and cute personalities.

2. Clinique Perfume

This sample size perfume is call Clinique Happy, again, its fun size and sunny feeling reminds me of the Japanese culture, specifically the animation again.

3. Eyebrow Pencil

This eyebrow pencil consists the color of black and brown, it makes me think of the gesture woman does when they draw it on their eyebrow to make it look thicker, it reminds me of the geisha make up.

4. Necklace

This necklace is designed for wearing crewneck shirts, or when the top doesn’t have a collar, it suppose to decorate the top and make it look as if it were one piece. Its glamourous and possibly luxurious qulity make me relate to the effect of make up and the expression it tries to give.

5. Memories of a Geisha Movie

This movie is about, obiously the story of a geisha. In the movie, it reveals a lot of Japanese culture style and their ways of doing things. Geisha especially have the full make up on, so it’s a representation of both my topic – make up and Japanese culture.

6. Red lipstick

This shade of red is similar to the shade that woman will use back then, it’s the dominant feature and remark on a full face make up, especailly when the Japanese usesally color their face white, then red lips stand out even more.

7. Rice seasoning

This is a seeweed flavor rice seasoning, one of my favortite Japanese food mixing ingredient. It mixes with rice and addes flavor to it, it’s usually added to riceball. This is an example of the Janpanese foos culture, and it reminds me of sushis and riceball whenever I see it.

8. Dark Red Nail Polish

The shade of red is a very rich color, to me it represents high-class, luxurious, and good taste. This often relates to the purpose behind make up and its effect.

9. Seeweed

This is a very common Japanese food ingredient, and it’s been used for a long time, it has historically background and to me it represents the sea.

This brush is used to put on blush (it rhymes >.<), also very represenative of make up.

This is seeweed again, it’s used to cook in different ways than the previous one, also representive of the sea.

This is a water bottle with an angry face on it, it’s very comical and it also reminds me of the Japanese animation spirit.

13. Sephora make up bag

The color of the bag is red white and black, which is the color that’s used mostly for make up. Black for eyeliner and lashes, red for lipstick and white for face.

14. Floral box

The cuteness and appearance of this box also reminds me of the Japanese animation, also the girly style is similar to cosmetics a girl would own.

The rich dark red like I said previous is symbolized for luxriuous and glamourous, similar to the effect of make up.

17. Mushtash pen

The mustash on the top can actually be put on to one’s face on the upper lips, it look cute and playful, and it can be part of a “mask” that conceals something, therefore related to make up

This reminds me of ethnicity culture, the shape and the material it’s used is very native and very humble, reminds me of a cultural product.

The color and the short heels all contributes to the culture of Japanese and it’s something refers to feminine just like make up.

20. Thin noodle

Japanese syle thin noodle, I’m very interested in each culture’s food culture, as you can see that a few of my previous objects are food source. This is also part of the Japanese culture.

I got this face roller in a Japanese store, only in an asian store, especially Japanese store will you find these kind of cosmetic product, something like this will never be found in an American market, because only Asian women worry about the size and the fatness on their cheeks and will do something like this to lose the fats on their cheek just like I do.

A very essential souce in Japanese food culture, very very essential, if a person were to ask what’s one source they know that’s Japanese they’ll for sure say “washabi!”.

23. Hello-Kitty pen

Hello-Kitty, again, Japanese style, all about cuteness and attracts young girls, because it’s so famous it becomes one of the Japanese logo in young girl’s heart.

24. Kimono

A very representative piece of garment of the Japanese culture, it has historical backgrounds and it’s just so representative of Japanese culture that I can’t think of anything else that’s more representative than kimono.
