For this final project, my group’s inspiration came from looking at the base feeling of being in a safe, eating environment and thought to flip it entirely to the idea of “Discomfort.”
The process in designing the project was a piecework trial and error of ideas that we each contributed. We had multiple ideas and pieces we wanted to implement, but due to time and monetary constraints, we had to take a step back and become realistic about the situation. We made sure to implement objects already in the classroom and easily transportable.
As for the plaster, we initially wanted to made 6 pieces but time became an issue as well, especially since we overestimated how much time we had left. Using our leftover foam and tape, we made pedestals out of plaster. Due to our inexperience, it was a bit difficult.
