Hurricane Sandy was a devastating wake up call to New York residences and reminder that natural disaster is a dangerous reality that exists. At any moment natural disaster could occur. As humans, what can we do to be prepared for such events? I collaborated with few classmates in my Sustainable Systems class to conceptualize a tool specifically designed to prepare people in different flood zones in the Manhattan area in the case of another natural disaster.
