100,000 orangutans’ killed in 16 years

I know palm oil is terrible, but I didn’t realize that over 100,000 orangutans have been killed in the past 16 years. That is genocide, and it brings me great saddness. I avoid using products with palm oil, although I am not as adamant about it compared to dairy or other animal products. There is this place on the lower east side- a vegan deli that emphasizes they only use palm oil free products in their store. I think that is a great step, even if it is one deli, if consumers and entrepreneurs insist on palm oil free products.
