When the Antwerp Six got their start at the British Designer Show, they had no idea how much influence they had on projecting Belgian fashion into the mainstream. For my subject, I chose to revolve my project around this trade show they attended back in March 1986. This was their start, yet there are virtually no archived evidence of their presence at this event. The object that I will employ to make my story believable is a garment made by Dries van Noten that was kept from that event. Instead of a men’s outfit, I will be changing it to women’s wear as a signifier of this real/false document. Along with the main object, I have created a mood board from van Noten, a forged fashion week schedule from March 1986, van Noten’s clothing tag, and a banner that was a mentioned evidence from the British Designer Show.
