Entering Elena’s home, I was astonished. Artistic in itself, the amount of personality was obvious in the small details. Her many cameras were placed on a small table in the living room, I was fascinated by them and suddenly the interview seemed much more interesting to me.
I asked a wide range of questions from her personal style, aspirations and her views on life itself. She spoke about her love for floral prints and photography. She spoke with an open mind and of the many diverse hobbies that until today, she continues to expand. This ties in with her general view that people cannot be limited into choosing one profession or skill, but that with the desire to work hard, there are endless possibilities.
The walls of her room were blue. I do not quite remember what kind of blue. It was not decorated very much although she did have two of the pictures she took, on the wall above her bed. She explained that her apartment was something she loves and that it is a representation of what she achieved through hard work. However, she still remains very connected to her home in Colorado because most of her favourite objects are a memory of home. Her red velvet scrunchy, her many floral printed bed sheets and clothing, the polaroid picture of her mother and the sound of her Bluegrass music filling the apartment.
