A metal grid, patterned in hoops. A lampshade, to be direct. The light bulb shines through as if trying to breakout out of its cell. A contrast between the harshness of the metal hoops and the softness of the light. A radiant effect forming a dome like structure. A detailed beauty resembling the sunlight peeking through a metal fence. A delicacy in the image itself and a gracefulness in the light going against but also coupled with the shade. What intrigued me about this image was the combination of something that is harsh and something that is light. This lamp shade in in my bedroom. When the light is on there are spiralling shadows caused on the ceiling and they twirl when the lamp is turned. The lighting in the room is almost orange keeping the ambiance dimmer. I chose this lamp shade loving the idea of the metallic softness in the style. Making a material associated with being harsh and tough, look so delicately made and graceful. I took time to find this lampshade and even the lightbulb, making sure that this was an exact showing of my personal style. I chose this lamb because it would be something I used in my everyday life, something I would turn on and off for a long time.
