Decomposing And Etude On The Layers Of Time
The base of this project is a photo of a part of a wall I took in Gallerie Vivienne. I remember it catching my eye because it was so detailed and so different from what you except to be on the walls when you walk somewhere as mesmerising and beautiful as that Gallerie.
Since taking its picture, I knew I wanted to deconstruct it and study it, so that the different layers of the wall could be seen and given attention to.

As I decomposed the picture, I also studied each layer and its colour, its texture, and represented them in a different aspect with gouache on paper.
The display:
By displaying it in a hallway and hanging the layers from the ceiling, I wanted to give the impression of a sort of Gallerie, a passage, in which you’re intrigued to enter and understand what is standing in front of you.
