Ada Calhoun visits Lang

This week in my Tutorial Advising class we had the pleasure of hosting Ada Calhoun, author of St. Marks is Dead, which argues, of course, the exact opposite. Ada offered keen insight into the life of the working writer and editor (she’s both), and provided evidence once again of the significance of community in developing a singular voice. We read several of her essays, including an excerpt from the St. Marks Place book, a Times Modern Love column about marriage (the subject of her next book), and a profile of the writer whose work she wanted to introduce my class to: Lisa Carver.

I’ll invite any and all, my students especially, to offer their ongoing thoughts here about Ada Calhoun or Lisa Carver.
