First LER: IS2

  1. On the chalk board, we discussed the importance and the impact of the ability to reflect as an artist. Reflection can bring clarity, introduce other perspectives and can bring new ideas that lead to the production of a prototype so the process continues and lands on the final product.
  2. I found the Wilber quadrant interesting, although cofusing, as a class we realized the complexity of everyday things and their relationship to the world and the owner.
  3. In seminar, we had to create a large diagram that dissected our personal object, which forced us to notice details beyond the physicality of the object.
  4. How does Wilber’s quadrants relate to bridge 1? How can it assist in my process?
  5. In Roland Barthes. Mythologies, he discusses how the connotations of certain objects are justified because of people and current societal norms. Stereotypes are only made because of what is considered “normal” at that current period of time.
  6. Does this cycle continue through time?
  7. I can relate the general structure of this studio class to my time: composition class, twice a week we are assigned readings based on concepts of time and time passing, there is an environment that is established that welcomes many perspectives and opinions during conversations. In studio, I find that all opinions are open and welcome.
