The Crystal Mask of Val Garland during the Medulla period.
This piece caught my eye as it greatly connects to my final piece in studio. The embellishments and detail of the mask go great with my “moulin rouge/ cabaret” theme as it grabs people’s attention and gives off a sense of confidence and flamboyancy- much like the people during the Belle époque era. Since my focus is enhancing the face and playing around with different ways our faces can present a mask, I found this mask unique because it follows the traditional way of wearing a mask while still being original with its choice of material, presentation and style.
