Meaning:
In the first photograph, there is an interesting element of inter-generational gap between myself and the old couple. They are holding a cam recorder- a device which is digitally advanced -whereas I was using a film camera- an invention which was born in their era.
And as I was being shot by a friend on an iPhone. This grounds the piece as it is a social norm for teens to be capturing all sorts of memories on their phones. Hence, this is why this is the bottom visual. But as she was taking a picture of me, I shot her on my film camera as well. The cyclical turn of mixing digital and film sirs an element of intrigue in this collage.
