In this composition, I drew the figures in a composition on the page and drew a box around each figure. After that, I colored in each box with different shades of ink. One was full black, another medium, and the last light. After the ink dried, I created different patterns on the backgrounds with colored oil pastels. This created an interesting background and composition within the three figures on the pages. It also is a gestalt figure-ground study because the figures are left in white while the background is filled in. These allows the figures to pop against the background.
