Studio II: Center for Book Arts – Field Trip

On a quick field trip we visited a small exhibit called the center for book arts. It was integrated into a working studio which I thought was a unique and different experience than a regular gallery as you were surrounded by working artists. I chose this piece by Mala Iqbal purely out of personal connection as it reminded me of a similar work of art that I painted when I was younger. As well as the direct connection to nature which I am so fond of this piece really appealed to me and I liked wide use of values in the grey scale as well as alternative brush strokes to achieve the naturalistic moment of the piece.
