Post Card Project ➤

“I remember England, my pre-k country.”

“I remember Laos, my kindergarten country.”

“I remember Thailand, my neighborhood country.”

“I remember Korea, my home country.”

“I remember France, my middle school country.”

“I remember Italy, my high school country.”

“I remember U.S.A, my college country.”

➤  These are a series of flags. These cards identify me as a unique person and share my memories directly as it demonstrates how many different countries I’ve lived in. From England to United States, countless memories pop out, covering one by one and blending as a whole. Most of the cards will be mailed to my father because I wouldn’t have been able to experience the diversity if it wasn’t him.

Step one: cut out to the shape of the flag, using the knife and the ruler.

Gathering thoughts in the map, the tear shows my mood at that time in the flight.

Another memory of another country.

Another memory of another country.

The most recent memory.

The most recent memory.

➤   Personally, just by the idea of making meaningful postcards and sending them to meaningful people was interesting and inspiring. I’ve sent postcards previously in my life but I’ve never made one and sent it to someone else. During the process of making these postcards, I kept thinking about relationships and how special others are to me. In this way, this project meant a lot to me.
