Selves with Object, Final

Reflections: This project was a short but intricate one. Only because I was forced to think about myself in the future, even though I do that all time, in relation to helping others. First, I started with the basic overview of the project, and what the point of it was, along side some examples. Which was extremely helpful, instead of just being thrown in and told to start. Second, I had to really sit there and brain storm wha I wanted to do, what I wanted both my characters to look like and my avatars mission. Through a little trail and error, along with some criticism, I managed to come up with a bases for my project. Next, it was just a series of drafts and rough cuts. to see how I was going to present the final project. As you can see, from both  my original draft to this final piece, I have definitely gone through a few changes of heart. Originally, I was going to just have my final piece in photographs, but I felt like that would limit me to how I want my avatar to look like, plus it would be hard to convey the background I was going for with only photographs in such a short time frame. As I change the orientation of the piece from vertical to horizontal to give more of the feel of crowning my avatar. Even though It kinda diminishes my avatar due to him being on the bottom as some would read it, I specially choose to do this because, even though I am on a journey and would love to see some many changes arise, I still will hold some of my basic traits and attributes. I will still be Dash Porter. I’m playing off the idea that regardless of race, gender and/or sexually, If you love someone before you’ve noticed this things, why should this change the way you feel about them. As you can see, this is a very sensitive and person project to me. Another change I choose to make was the idea of the background. In my final piece, I choose to add people, so I wouldn’t look the idea of my mission: to help/guide others into finding themselves while I simultaneously find/figure who I truly am. So by adding people to the background watching my avatar get crowned and soon to be following their new “king” to me represents this idea of my mission While also keeping my object, prom king crown, relevant to the story. There are also multiple subtle changes i made from self to avatar that also have personal meaning to me. Lust little things that keep me going throughout the day or like in general. For example, my amethyst or my unicorn. Overall, This was a really fun and creative project to do, which allowed me to thing outside of the box on a topic that I normally think about. Can’t wait to have a little more fun and time with this piece own my own.
