California Universities
In this visualization, I mapped out five locations of five universities in California. Each university that was chosen represents the locations of my best friends throughout the state of California. All of them stayed in state, but some went farther than others and through this visualization I get a better understanding of the distance. Angela (University of San Francisco) and Emely (San Diego State University) are the furthest away from each other. The latitudinal difference is 5.001048, and the next largest space between two universities (Angela: USF and Dominique: Cal State Long Beach) is 3.718705. By seeing where all of the universities exist geographically it is easier to see the close proximity of the southern California universities. By comparing their latitude and longitude data on the spreadsheet, you can see that there is almost an equal distance between their latitude and longitude variations. For example, Natalie, Briana and Dominique all go to school within 1-2 hours driving distance. The coordinates of their latitude and longitude vary no more than a single digit difference (-117 and -118, 33 and 34).
