Viewers got to re-experience things in the comfort of a theater.

the building up and demolishing the Star Cinema at 13 Street and Broadway (1901)
Film makers did experiment with time however.

Seeing New York by Yacht (1903)
This film is actually a time lapse film, but there was something wrong with the camera.
The result? A seriously Avant-Garde vision of the Hudson River.
