Sometimes I Don’t feel Anatomically Correct

Sometimes I don’t feel anatomically correct.

The brief for this assignment was to create anything that showed a progression in time. I really love working with themes of chaos and discomfort, and I brought these into the project by creating a book with head shots of people of different ages, starting with a little girl and ending with the old women. Only, all of them are not depicted in the way that they look but the way they feel- not quite right. I replaced certain parts of their body with things that make them anatomically imperfect or abnormal, to bring to the fore, the uneasiness that most people feel in their own skin, when they realize that they do not fit into the society’s parameters of normalcy.
