Sophie Calles

I really enjoyed Sophie Calles work at the Museée de la Chasse et de la Nature. In the exhibition she has invited guest Serena Carone, “Beautiful doubled, Mr. Marquis!”, Is the metaphor of the works of Sophie Calle and Serena Carone. There was several art work that struck my Eye, one of them being the “Le cerf en robe rouge” it reminds me of an Alexander Mcqueen dress.

However, what really struck my eye was Serena Carone eyes by Sophie Calles, done 1994. Unlike other exhibits it didn’t say any information about the art work next to it, which makes it a bit hard answering the questions emailed. However, it also makes the art piece more though provoking- what does she want to tell with the eyes? First of all the eyes is the first piece that you see when entering the room, which might give the impression ” thats she’s watching you”  the work can also signify the period when she hired a private detective to follow her and record her every move. The eyes might symbolize the detective and stalking.

( My ELP seems be needing a holiday as well, I don’t know why it flipped the pictures upside down. )
