4 Part Story Project
For my Story Project, I was given the emotions of “Surprise” and “Senseory Pleasure” around which to focus my story. My story I came up with is about 2 lovers who meet unexpectedly and their romantic actions suddenly become sexual. I decided to show this story using a more abstract approach. I the first image I show the pleasure and excitement that one feels when they first touch the hand of someone they are romantically interested in. The rainbow of colors in the hand and coming from the two fingers, as well as the butterflies within the hand, portray the excitement and energy that comes from this kind of sensory pleasure. In the next image, I show a couple kissing. The colors are still bright but much of the page is left white, showing how one loses focus of everything around them in this moment of sensory pleasure and romance. Int he third image, a man is seen from the back as two anonymous hands help him take off his shirt. From his head comes a rainbow of flowers, a symbol of the blooming and growing sensory pleasure that comes with the transition from romance to sexual actions. In the last image, the sensory pleasure consumes to subject. I wanted to use the heart and veins to portray the racing heart and energy that consumes a person in a moment of sensory pleasure. Bright rainbows of color burst from the skin of the subject in areas where this pleasure and energy are felt–the neck, the heart, and between the legs. The background is pink, blue, and purple–colors that our class and I agreed portrayed sensory pleasure.
