Here is a video of the Bronx Database Directory that our team created, this video is filmed by Amy Yao. One highlight that we included is the series of QR codes created by Cody Hughes, thus adding an interactive element between the reader and the booklet. We then split up the research and Amy listed the information for each manufacturer in the final booklet while I created the covers and the maps.
We sorted the new manufacturers that we found in three categories; fashion, home, and food. These three categories not only reflect our individual interests but also the majority of the manufacturers located in the Bronx. There are about 10 manufacturers for each category, what came as an initial surprise for us is the number of food and furniture manufacturers in the Bronx. This makes sense since the two industries requires a large working space, which the Bronx offers.
Lastly, due to our horrid time management and planning, we did not actually present the booklet in the format that was satisfactory to us. Luckily, we did pull together a well printed, (somewhat) sustainable product for the revision.
