Year of the Monkey

Year of the Monkey is a luminaire inspired by an old Chinese folk tale “Monkey grasping the moon” that I was told by my grandfather in my childhood: A group of monkeys thought the moon had fallen into the lake, and they tried to link their arms and tails to capture the moon. As they finally touched the moon, it vanished in the ripples of the water. As I have grown up, I realized that I love the poetry within and the Chinese philosophy behind this humorous story, so my design intends to bring together those nostalgic feelings along with the soft moonlight by mimicking the softness of the moonlight over the lake as well as the magical reflection of the “fallen” moon. The reflection of the Moon changes subtly as the viewers perspective changes, this subtlety reminds them of time, as the most essential yet most overlooked role behind everything in nature.

But where are the Monkeys?  Yes, you are.

  1. This luminaire is a work of art. I think my fellow connoisseurs will absolutely love it. Just like the Australian favorite https://joocasinoau.com/ Those who like online casinos will love it. Just try to play and get bonuses. The most important advantage of these games is just making money.
