This video talks about how to use hand to make smocking lattice, I want to study it because I like the process of hand making. The pattern of this technique is very consistant and I love the sense of crinkle added to the garment. Another reason is that I am not get used to the machine yet, it is still quite complicate to handle. Hand-sewing is straight forward and I feel proud when I finishes a piece that completely by my own hand.
This uses the technique of smoking lattice. The technique is the key in the design is because it made the design complicated and the design made the dress has different layers. Smoking lattice made the dress has a highlight. The colour used for the technique matches with the colour on the collar so it correspond to each other.
