For my grid project, I originally had intended to create a full faced makeup look, and slowly incorporate makeup items that I don’t typically use, or ‘fake’ makeup projects. When I created this piece I was intending to show the clutter and chaotic feel that some people have about makeup. By using linear aspects I created a sense of direction, to show that there is a way to follow and understand makeup. When I was younger I really didn’t fully understand makeup and I would go to class in middle school with raccoon eyes and way too much eyeliner, and today I know how to do my own makeup and still be able to go without. By placing myself in some of the images, I showed some of the process of what society’s idea of makeup is, which includes lipstick, mascara, hair removal, and much more.
