Drawing from the Imagination: Rules

For this assignment, I made rules for myself and created six drawings. The first rule was to only use pen, meaning no pencil, and the second rule was to create a drawing freehand and unplanned. If I made a mistake that really bothered me, I’d use pieces of purple post-it notes to cover them up and redraw the lines. Otherwise once the line was draw, there was no going back. I created these rules as a way for me to grow more confident in my lines and as a way to exercise both my hand and brain creatively. For most of these drawings, I would start by drawing these eyes and expand from there. I never had the final image planned out in my mind.
