The purpose of this assignment was to learn how to use the laser cutter and create a polyhedron with two different materials and containing a design as well. I was inspired by coral found in nature and the organic lines they create. I used clear plexi glass on the sides for the viewer to be able to see inside to contrast the white. I will continue to use the laser cutting technique for my next project and I found I enjoy using the laser cutter to create. At first it was difficult to figure out how to set up the printing and the illustration document but once I completed it, the next time it will be much easier.
