B3.4 Prototype

My prototype is a small model of the “frame set” I will be creating. I don’t Necessarily want to create a video prototype because I would like the final to be a surprise to myself and the class. I like to force myself to do things in the least amount of steps possible, so making a bunch of prototypes is a bit of a challenge for me. I am largely inspired by the color pallets of some of my favorite films. I have a piece of music that eventually led me to wanting to create a stage like set. I plan to have actual fabric in place of my currently painted curtains. I will also be using the upcoming prototypes to finalize the exact design I want to do on my frame.

The idea of this project is to abstractly symbolize the relation of photographer and model. Unlike this still, 2D v version of my project, there will be a lot more movement involved in the final. I have recently been inspired by stop motion animation, I want to incorporate a handmade quality to a digital piece. The video itself will almost look painting like, except for the moment in the center of the piece. I want this to be simple. Simplicity is an important part of my artwork. I am challenging myself to use color instead of black and white. By forcing myself to use color, I might unlock a better understanding of why I am usually against color, or hesitant to use it.
