Diptych Part 2

For the second part of my diptych project, inspired by the Andy Warhol exhibition, I chose to shift my focus towards major environmental events and their significance to humanity. I curated this piece using skeletons and photographs as my medium. I have created 3 diptychs that all correlate which each other, while using the skeleton as the the product of the event. In my first piece, I covered the Dakota pipeline and how the government allowed it to be used for financial gain knowing that it will have a great effect on the area it covers. For my second piece, diptych I criticized the BP oil spill and have indicated that it is a situation in which us humans are killing ourselves by harming the environment. That is why I have a skeleton holding another skeletons head to show that we are actually harming humanity itself.

Lastly, I gave a my personal thought on the current environmental crisis by showing that humanity is a reaching the environmental tipping point for global warming and serious repercussions on earth itself. I used the skeleton as my leading material and medium throughout all my pieces to show that humanity does not have a good chance in terms on existing in the long run. In my last piece the skeleton is a fading one showing that humanity is fading out while the only thing we can do is pray for a late death rather than an early on. I have chose to depict them in black and white to show the lack of hope in our current situation.
