I am researching, experimenting, and studying with limitations of film and how easily one film can be meshed into a completely different genre. I am studying this, because I have always been interested in film and entertainment, but I want to learn much more about it on a deeper level, to where I can play around with the boundaries of simply its genre and meaning. The goal of my project is to have completely dissected the structure of a “film.” Take for example,  Grand Budapest Hotel. What if it could be morphed and transformed into a completely different genre and film, like The Shining?

Why?

Because I think it would be interesting for audiences to realize how malleable films are, and how easy they are to turn into different genres and subjects. I plan on creating a storyboard with the new storyline that would be a result of the combination of The Shining or Grand Budapest. I would hand-draw the scenes that I would imagine would be in the movie. Or create a proper film poster, of combined movie (Grand Budapest and The Shining)
