Interpreting Memories: Sasha’s Christmas

memories-2

Sasha told me of a fond memory she had-going to her grandmother’s house by the beach for christmas and celebrating with all her family. She told me how her uncle used to be the life of the party, playing guitar drunkenly into the night and singing the same songs over and over again while her aunt banged two cans together along “with” the music…even though she was never on tempo. I put the cans in with the christmas lights because this was the specific soda she always remembered her family drinking, and the words to “La Bamba” are blurred in the background to simulate the drunken mood when the song was sung.
