Reflection on “The Stranger” by Schutz

Becoming familiar with new people, places and things can be one of the most difficult and frustrating things. I think Schutz thoughtfully described the experience from the eyes of the stranger, the one feeling isolated. We are all strangers at one point or another, whether it’s moving to a new city, starting a new job, or even starting college. When I moved here a few days ago, I was afraid of being in this situation. But thanks to my roommates, I feel more comfortable than ever. So considering this, I think we should all make an effort to be that person that makes “the stranger” in any situation feel welcome and comfortable.
