For my Intro to Animation midterm, I did a stop motion animation using acetate sheets and paper cut outs. It basically depicts the journey of a leaf, through changing seasons, from a sunny summer morning ending on a snowman on a snowy winter night.
The background consists of 4 layers, each with swirls painted on in different colors. I shot the background separately by moving the layers at different speeds so that I could create a parallax motion. Then I shot the foreground on a green (blue) screen and combined them both. The music I used was Vincent by Don McLean, because I felt like it went with the aesthetic I used for the stop motion.
