For my collage, my original idea was the essence of a landscape based on environmental consciousness. This developed further into including Indonesian bodies into my collage, and ultimately I ended up with a collage about Balinese culture to contrast with this current trend of western tourists visiting Indonesia for Bali. The stigma this creates about an idealized vacation hotspot Bali is much different than the paradise Bali naturally is, in my opinion. A lot of culture ends up getting erased with the overwhelming amount of content created in Bali of younger, adventurous, white people of privilege and money. It is important to be mindful of the cultures that exist in the country foreign to travelers.
