REINTERPRETATION

This was a picture I took before cleaning up the capsules, I think it has a more messy feel to it because the powder is all over the capsules. I’ve also overlaid a warning sign on top as a nod to the addictive nature of energy drinks such as red bull.

I made 21 capsules in order to depict the 21 days it takes to form a habit- which can further turn into an addiction. I chose the pill format because it could be tied to drugs- something that people get addicted to. I chose the red and blue pigments to go along with the colour scheme of red bull.

These are process photos of how I filled the pills with the paint pigment. At first I tried filling them all one by one but that turned out to be very time consuming so I took some vellum and cut out X into it so I could Slide the capsules in and pour in the pigment. I assembled the red and blue capsules separately and put them together at the end.

I used a Q tip to ensure that the pigment was properly packed and no space was left.

Presentation during the critique.
