Lost Book Found shows how you don’t need much to get what you want from something. This was shot on Super 8 and 16mm, but the entirety of the film seems very purposeful and artistic. I think I can use inspiration from Lost Book Found for my current project because of the intentionality of everything shot. It seems as though everything was randomly put into the piece, but at the same time it seems very well thought out and intentional. The message of the film is kind of blurry to me, but I believe that it is commenting on consumerism in the city. The emotional tone seemed melancholic, but informative and exploratory. Jem Cohen is unlocking an underground vantage point of the city. This film uses the narrative dialogue approach combined with experimental cinematography and documentary style plot to avoid creating a stereotypical film, or even a stereotypical documentary.
