One of the biggest differences that I found out between New York and San Francisco was the weather. New York has different seasonal experiences like the hot of summer and the cold of winter, where as SF has the same weather pretty much the entire year. With this, I wanted to explore touch because that’s how you can feel the different climates and seasons. In my mind map, I looked at all the different parts of the city where you can feel drastically different temperatures. For example being at Ocean Beach feels different because of the sand and the cold water. I decided to focus on how hot the summer is in New York compared to the all year fog in SF. From there, I tried to see what is associated with heat and fog. For touch, there is a difference between feeling the sweat from being hot and feelings the mist of the fog on your face. I used this idea of feeling the different temperatures on your skin to create my storyboard.
