the time period was 1960-80: they had stronger gender roles shown, where the men would go out to work and support the family, and the women would stay home, clean, and take care of their husband when they get home
humans and the monkeys had a gender heirachy, but when the women’s march happened, it changed their process. the women raised their voices, and now, they aren’t being dominated like the two species
they are looking at the baboons because they also have a social structure, but they have one because they need it to survive
they continue to see that their social groups are structured because they have a male dominance
the males don’t care for the infants, and the females don’t work together for long. the scientists compared human culture to the monkeys’ even though the two species are more instinct driven where humans are driven by necessity and logic.
the social groups are driven by their instinct of survival
biologically, humans don’t have ‘heat season’, where animals do, for their survival and by instinct
“science is a myth”- i heard once that science used to be a myth. a myth is “a traditional story, especially one concerning the early history of a people or explaining some natural or social phenomenon, and typically involving supernatural beings or events.” and usually false. but science is just something proven and explained after finding evidence. and it could always change with new discoveries. for example, “man is hunter”- people believed that because physically, men are stronger, and people put the gender roles into their society, but then the women’s march changed their course and evidence
they studied under him, so they can see his view and his side of research, and continue his research
humans can make decisions, think for ourselves and solve problems, whereas the baboons and langurs are just acting out on instinct
i am afraid this is too difficult to grade in this form.
