Japanese was the first different culture I became interested in. My first Japanese exposure was anime and dramas. The very first anime I watched was Sailor Moon and Card Captor Sakura. I have always liked the subbed versions better than dubbed versions. Some other ones I’ve read or watched were ginga nagareboshi gin, law of ueki, bleach, naruto, hunterxhunter. I haven’t really been watching a lot of anime anymore, but something is interesting is that I enjoy sports anime, even though I don’t like sports in real life. For example, Prince of Tennis, whistle, Haikyuu!!, Diamond no Ace, Yowamushi Pedal, and Major. After anime or read the manga, I started watching dramas like The Wallflower, Hana Kimi, hana yori dango, 1 Liter of Tears, liar game, etc. I have also searched live action of Sailor Moon, and watched their live action, plus their musical. Same with Prince of Tennis, after watching the anime, I read the manga, live action, and musical. There are probably more I’ve watched, but can’t name them all.
For the music, I’ve heard of the band AKB48 (and saw 3 in a drama) and heard some of their music before. And I think I’ve heard of Morning Musume. Also, there were more musically anime I’ve watched like Full Moon o Sagashite, kobato, kirarin revolution, and mermaid melody.
